"So I have been compiling these dub tracks for the last 5 months, and I finally just decided to use tracks that I'm comfortable with. Back in the day when I first started listening to reggae music but uneducated to its possibilities, someone turned me onto DUB! The low frequency bass lines and the manipulation of the sound board can turn any reggae record into its own warm vibe. Today, producers have taken dub to a whole new level with the available technology and have spawned new genres such as Dubstep. I can remember when I drove home from the beach after spending a week in the Outer Banks. I logged six straight hours listening to nothing but dub, and when it was over, I needed more! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!”

REEHEE: “Rap music has taken a back seat in my rotation of listening. Why? Because rap music has become a circus of cheap Casio keyboard production and just down-right horrible rappers. The phony gangsta mentality along with the block party, big booty, bling does not represent the hip-hop culture. Rap music is supposed to be pure, conscious and backed up by versatile DJ's who can supply musical samples, organic beats, and the scratch. This mix is all of that. Enjoy!!”

SHRED: “I truly miss this kind of music: funky beats, intelligent samples & wise words. What happened? There was definitely a time when hip hop ruled my speakers. The downfall for me really began when rappers started paying more attention to the appearance of the 'product' rather than the content of the cuts. I still search out choice cuts, but it is getting difficult, which strikes me as disappointing, given rap is the most popular form of music today (if you're looking at music sales, both downloads & retail). It just goes to show that the best music of any genre remains truly underground.”

Ever since then, I’ve never stopped digging on the Space Cowboy’s innovative grooves. So after 6 albums, 10 years of collecting just about anything that Jamiroquai releases, and countless 12" remixes later, I thought it was time to do a mix worthy of Jamiroquai’s timeless sound and amazing career.
