"The idea for this mix was conceived a few weeks ago in the early morning of a beautiful summer day. I was outside waiting on a plumber to show up, sipping on a drink and listening to "Another Late Night" by Howie B. I thought to myself that there ought to be a mix celebrating the morning. Most of the tracks were chosen during that time and the few others fell nicely into place shortly there after. It was not a planned concept that "MORNING GLORY" would be following SHRED's "Blue Room Sessions: After Midnight," but the thought that SHRED was compiling a mix inspired by the night while I was compiling one inspired by the morning could not have worked out any better. Listening to this mix will be a nice reminder of that summer morning, but music is subjective and I hope this mix moves your body, puts a smile on your face and becomes the soundtrack to a memory in the making no matter what the season or time of day."

What started in my mind as homage to a decade’s worth of deep house and downtempo, the soundtrack to a hundred late nights in DC’s bars and lounges, quickly became something very different indeed. Something darker, animated by synthesized electricity and the rhythm of technology. The transition from planning a House mix to arriving at the Techno mix I’ve created was a surprising one for me. But here at the end of the journey, I couldn’t be happier. I hope you enjoy this mix.”

“The Stingray body represents my favorite design of the Chevrolet Corvette. When I was really young, I remember seeing these sleek machines prowling the streets, with some sort of 70's music blaring from the speakers. You could always hear the music, since the T-tops were always off. It's this association that brings me to this mix. These tunes represent what I would hear & play on the 8-track car stereo, if I ever owned such a Vette. It's one way of driving in style throught those boogie nights. "NEON CYBER was a short-lived comic series (that later became a graphic novel) published by IMAGE comics. The series followed a renegade motorcycle gang trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic urban environment. The series was an offshoot of another (more popular) series called DARK MINDS. DARK MINDS chronicled the police force trying to enfore the law. NEON CYBER followed the youth trying to evade the police. Although its plot was fairly predictable, the art & graphics were stunning with very intricate detail. I have always wanted to score a soundtrack for publications such as this series. This mix represents the sounds I hear as I read the words & soak in the art. I sincerely hope you enjoy this mix. CHEERS.”

SHRED: “With all the music I try to hear, I always seem to return to classic Blue Note titles. I grew up listening to these sounds long before I even knew what any of it was. Despite the fact that these tunes are decades old, I never tire from any of this music. It still sounds fresh, smooth & compelling to me today. When the volume of the night comes down, I listen to Blue Note albums to complete those blue hours. Cheers.”
