Compiled and mixed by REEHEE @ Sheffield Court Studios 8/11-9/11. Co-Produced by The PRODUCER DOGS. I would like to thank all the pod listeners, family and friends for all the support. Thanks to my other partners in crime: Shred, J-Bird, and Adam.

"In the early 1970's, after President Kennedy announced the space race and we beat the Russians to the moon, our outlook on space exploration and what the future may bring was also reflected in our music. With the integration of synthesizers, new far out atmospheric sounds became popular in the disco world: telling the stories of love, freedom, and the possibilities of climbing into a spaceship and exploring the outer regions of our world. ENJOY!!" MUSIC IS A FORCE OF NATURE

"So I have been compiling these dub tracks for the last 5 months, and I finally just decided to use tracks that I'm comfortable with. Back in the day when I first started listening to reggae music but uneducated to its possibilities, someone turned me onto DUB! The low frequency bass lines and the manipulation of the sound board can turn any reggae record into its own warm vibe. Today, producers have taken dub to a whole new level with the available technology and have spawned new genres such as Dubstep. I can remember when I drove home from the beach after spending a week in the Outer Banks. I logged six straight hours listening to nothing but dub, and when it was over, I needed more! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!” MUSIC IS A FORCE OF NATURE

ADAM: "This latest mix is a celebration of works new and old, including some new releases from DC's own ESL music. Dark, lush, taut productions merge and meld with some classic instrumental hip-hop and electro-funk. Together, they make for a bass heavy ride that explores a range of emotions, from desperate longing the morning after, to the joy of a carefree sunny day. This mix was both a challenge and a source of reward for me, and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.”

"A window into the underground that illuminates the surface, drawing the conscious observer into a fresh new dawn free of the big music label’s next marketing campaign. Delighting those who feel the connection with the artist they’ve discovered through their constant search for music that transcends current media fashion trends. Only we can experience the underground yet still see the sky. I am privileged to share this mix with you so that we may share that connection while miles apart." Peace through music, J-BIRD

“House music by far is the most popular genre in electronic music. The question is: do you know the history? House originated in the early 1980's in Chicago and spread like wildfire to major cities across the US. It then reached Europe, largely due to the infamous House Music Tour visiting England. Since the early to mid 1990's, it has become infused into mainstream pop and dance music worldwide. Like every genre, House music has broken up into sub genres and has spawned interesting and cutting edge sounds to keep things fresh. I have decided to dig through my crates and pull out the classic gems that helped create the House music phenomenon. ENJOY!!MUSIC IS A FORCE OF NATURE

"When we sat down to do the 2011 scheduling for our 5th year on Podomatic, I was pleased to find I would be kicking off the first mix of the year. The only thing I found appropriate was the 5th installment of TO DA FLOOR. I used to promote this series with homemade covers and CD burning. It's been 5 years of hard work surrounding myself with great friends and most of all enjoying the music. I will never get tired of 70's Disco, 80's grooves and modern day Electro: they blend so well together. May your New Year be prosperous and your soul be invigorated. ENJOY!!

Mixed December 2010 at Subterranean Studios. Special thanks to Flavors Soul Food, 3420 Carlyn Hill Drive, Falls Church, VA, for the photo. Dedicated to my wife Christi...you're my favorite person.

ADAM: “It's been just over a year since the last installment of SOUL FOOD, and the cold days and early nights of December feels like the right time for a second helping. The holiday season is a time for us to appreciate the warmth and comfort of friends and family. And it's a time to appreciate the things that are classic. This mix is heavy on classic, deep funk, sprinkled with a few rising stars of the soul revival. But the best reason for a mix like this at the holiday season? Because this is a great antidote to an overdose of Christmas music. Enjoy!

"From the mid 1960's through the '70's, Detroit was at war. Automobile manufacturers Ford, GM, & Mopar were continuously introducing faster cars with bigger engines, each one outdoing the last. These classic muscle cars are timeless. With their menacing beauty and ferocious growl, they excite and inspire. Each generation evokes the inspiration of the past to form the next timeless creation. Here’s to the future classics!" Enjoy irresponsibly, J-BIRD

“I have recently traveled to Martha's Vineyard to take some time off from the hustle and bustle of the DC area. The nights on Chappaquddick are so dark and so clear you can see our solar system with the naked eye. I had a wonderful experience with my Bose headphones listening to deep future disco as I checked out an intense meteor shower. I'm a firm believer that visual effects enhance music and leaves your imagination open for whatever your brain can process. It's now September and the days are getting shorter and the nights will get longer, and the music will SOLARIZE our souls! ENJOY!!

Thanks for listening! “Spring time in DC was absolutely beautiful this year, but before we knew it the heat rolled in. And with that, it's time for another installment of the Summer Love series. I have produced more of an instrumental approach this year, with limited vocals and a relaxed groove. From the classic sounds of Naked Music to the gorgeous voice of Samantha James, may your summer be filled with good vibes and surrounded by the people you LOVE!!MUSIC IS A FORCE OF NATURE
